Service (they are engineering, they are also secret) codes are used to quick access to various functions, often even hidden. There are universal codes for Android, and there are those that are available only for certain device models.
Not so long ago I published an article in which I told. To do this, you could use special software or use one of the secret codes. Now I will talk about the most popular of them, thanks to which you can make many system settings.
Popular secret codes for Android smartphones
Why are these codes called "secret"? They are just not needed by most ordinary users, they are not published in the instructions for smartphones. First of all, "secret codes" are intended for engineers and developers to conduct various tests.
To use any of the service codes, you need to enter it in the dialer. On tablets, you will have to download a third-party application for making calls - enter in the search Google play request "Dialer" and download the "dialer" you like.

In principle, these are the most basic and universal service (secret) codes for tablets and smartphones on Android, but all manufacturers add support for their own, so if you are interested in codes for a particular device, download the application. It will be discussed below.
Android Service Codes in Secret Codes App
Secret Codes will scan the system for engineering codes and display the result in a list. You just have to click on the code of interest and you will be taken to the desired option.
Unfortunately, this method has a drawback: on some devices, the application does not find a single service code, and on some it does not find everything. But on the devices I tested, everything was fine, and the reviews on Google Play are almost all positive.
The term "secret codes for Android" refers to such combinations of symbols, which were originally intended for testing devices on which this operating system is installed.
With their help, developers check phones and tablets before sending them for sale. And their total number reaches several dozen.
The introduction of a certain sequence allows you to receive data or perform actions that are inaccessible to ordinary users. For example, find out the IMEI identifier, reset the system to factory settings, or check the operation of individual modules.
Features of "secret" ciphers
Many users who are faced with the need to use such commands may wonder about the reason for their secrecy.
First of all, such a name for a combination of symbols and numbers was received due to the fact that most owners of gadgets on this OS do not need them. And the instructions do not mention these commands.
To use any of them, you need to enter "Phone" in the dialer of the application (green or blue tube on the main screen).
By default, tablets without a 3G module do not have this option. And in order to run the codes, the user must download special applicationby finding it in PlayMarket for "Dialer".
Combinations for any Android gadget
Information sequences allow you to obtain data on various characteristics of the device and its individual elements:

The first one is to reset all settings and delete user-installed applications, the second command leads to a complete reinstallation of the system.
The combination * # * # 7594 # * # * allows you to get rid of the shutdown menu - when you press the corresponding button, the tablet or smartphone will automatically turn off without asking the user anything.
Selecting the code * # * # 8351 # * # * is needed to enable the registration of voice dialing, and * # * # 8350 # * # * - to disable this mode. The sequence # * 5376 # is used to erase messages, and several combinations for Android such as # * 3876 #, # * 3851 # and # * 2562 # restart the gadget.
Special codes for products of individual manufacturers
There are several combinations that are suitable only for certain models or brands of gadgets. They can be summarized in a small table.
Besides these, there are other commands. Find them using the special Secret Codes application from PlayMarket. It can even detect those that are not on the list.
You should know: Not all of the sequences, even universal ones, will work on every smartphone. Root rights or a self-reinstalled operating system, taken not from the official website, but from third-party sources, can limit the use of a secret combination.

Most of them should be used very carefully. Especially, those of them that not only give out some information, but also make changes to operating system or firmware. When used correctly, engineering combinations can be quite useful.
Android smartphone manufacturers implement and use the engineering menu for testing devices. It contains all kinds of tests and device settings that are not available to ordinary users. However, today, knowing the USSD command or downloading an application from PlayMarket, anyone can enter the engineering menu.
Why do you need a hidden engineering menu in Android

Convenient and does not require unnecessary actions.
Root rights to access the engineering menu
To get to the service menu on some versions of Android, the user must have superuser (root) rights. You can get the rights using specialized applications: Farmaroot, UniversalAndRoot, Romaster SU and others. To get Root access to a device using Farmaroot:

What can be configured in the menu
The appearance of the engineering mode and the options for adjusting the parameters may differ depending on the tablet or smartphone model. In the menu, users most often adjust the sound, change the camera settings, and use the recovery mode. The parameters for adjustment and the procedure for action are shown below. Be careful - the names of the menu items may differ in different models devices! You act at your own risk.
Audio: boost volume
If your phone is not ringing loudly enough, find the Audio section in the engineering menu and go to LoudSpeaker Mode. Select Ring. Smartphones quickly drain battery life for running applications, maintaining cellular communication and network connections... Using the engineering menu, you can increase the battery life.
Modern devices scan several GSM frequencies - 900/1800 MHz and 850/1900 MHz. A pair of 900/1800 MHz operates in Russia, which means there is no need to scan the network at other frequencies. The radio signal for the second pair can be turned off, which will significantly save the charge level.
In Engineer Mode, open Band Mode. Disable unused frequencies by unchecking the corresponding items - PCS1900 and GSM850. If the device supports two SIM cards, open the items SIM1 and SIM2 one by one and follow the steps indicated in each. Press the SET button to save the settings.
If your smartphone and SIM card work in 3G networks, disconnect networks that are not used in Russia: WCDMA-PCS 1900, WCDMA-800, WCDMA-CLR-850. Press the SET button again.
You can enable scanning of disabled networks by returning to the same menu and checking the boxes.
Camera: photo and video settings
By default, Android devices save pictures in JPEG format. In the meantime, photographers prefer to shoot and process their footage in RAW for more editing options. The technical menu allows you to select the desired picture format.
Find Camera in the menu and select Capture Type. Set the photo format to RAW and press SET. Also, in the Camera menu, you can increase the size of images, set the ISO value, enable shooting in HDR for higher details of the photo, set the frame rate for video. After changing each parameter, remember to press SET to save the settings.
Recovery mode
Recovery Mode - analogue of Bios on a computer, allows you to control the device without entering android system... Recovery Mode Features:
- resetting the settings to standard;
- firmware update;
- access to root rights;
- creating a backup copy of the OS;
- removal of personal data from the system.
In Recovery Mode, do not perform an action unless you are sure of what it will lead to. Some commands can damage the device and the system.
If the settings are not saved
Users who have access to the technical menu complain that the parameters changed in it are not activated or are reset when the device is restarted.
To activate the settings after changing the parameters, tap the SET button at the bottom of the screen. If the parameters are reset after restarting the device, try to enter the technical menu not through the application, but using a digital command.

Some users, faced with difficulties in passing a particular game, use special cheat codes that greatly simplify the gameplay. However, if the introduction on a computer does not raise any questions, then how to enter cheat codes on Android, if there is simply no keyboard in the game on a smartphone or tablet?
"Cheat" (from the English. Cheat) translates as "scam", but how cheating can you call the use of cheat codes? In most video games or PC games, these codes are originally embedded by the developer and represent a specific set of characters. This is done in order to test software at the development stage. For example, using a cheat code, the developer will not go through all the levels of the game to test the latter, but will immediately go to the desired level.

This scheme is much more complicated, but it makes it possible to transform the game variable, or any of its parameters. Well, if we figured it out in general terms with cheat codes, then the main question of our topic remains open for now. If we use a keyboard to enter cheats, say, on a PC, then how to do this on Android devices?
Using a standard keyboard

To use this opportunity to enter cheat codes, download and install GameKeyboard + on your Android (the application is distributed on a paid basis). By running the program, we see home page and we start to act according to the presented guide.
