To use an SMTP server to send emails to your gmail account:

  1. Open the page Settings\u003e Email.
  2. Select option via SMTP server in option Mail sending method.
  3. Fill in the fields in the section SMTP server settings... Please note that you need to set the name of the SMTP server along with the port number, for example, smtp.gmail.com:465.
  4. Replace the following piece of code in the file class.smtp.phplocated in the directory lib / phpmailerYour CS-Cart installation:

    If emails are not sent after the above changes, please check if PHP is configured on your server with ssl socket transport support.

  6. Create a file mail.php in the root directory of your CS-Cart installation with the following content:

  8. If you see a white page that says OK, this means PHP is configured with ssl socket transport support. If you see an error like this:
    Warning: fsockopen (): unable to connect to ssl: //smtp.gmail.com: 465 (Unable to find the socket transport "ssl" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?)
    this means PHP is configured without ssl socket transport support. Contact your server administrator and ask him to enable this support.

Not a single project on the Internet is known to be able to work stably for all users, without exception, for an endless period of time. Due to the errors that people have in the process of sending letters through postal services, the topic of resolving such difficulties becomes relevant.

The first step is to draw your attention to the fact that the overwhelming majority of mail services do not have problems on the server side. That is, if you cannot send any letter by email, the reason probably lies in your actions and equipment, and has nothing to do with the actions of the resource's technical specialists.

In addition to the above, an error when sending mail may well be associated with the termination of the domain, its blocking or incorrect settings. Thus, if you encounter this kind of difficulty while using your own domain, check it to see if it works.

Invalid domain name problems also apply to regular mailbox owners. However, the chance of a situation with a user being blocked in Yandex is extremely low.

As for common problems, sending errors most likely originate from the browser or blocking by the recipient. They can be solved by cleaning the browser and by eliminating the fact of the block on the addressee's side.

The email exchange service Mail.ru has few problems delivering messages to the addressee. At the same time, almost any problematic situation can be resolved by one of the most correct method - using special mail programs.

Please note that if sending mail to another user is unsuccessful, you may need to re-forward it.

Often, services such as Gmail automatically, due to the strong differences in work, enter letters from the domain names of the Mail.ru site into a folder "Spam" at the recipient.

In Gmail, there are two types of parameters: these are general, which are relevant to all accounts of the application and are individual for each account separately.

Common parameters

What general settings does Gmail offer? We select the option "General settings" in the menu and go to the submenu.

Default action... When you delete a message from the thread, the message can be archived and placed in the trash can, or completely deleted from your account. If you mistakenly deleted one of the letters, then you can always access it by accessing the "Trash" menu item.

At the same time, it is synchronized with the Google web service hosted on the server, after which, having logged into your account from any device (computer, mobile or tablet), you will receive the same set of emails in your inbox.

To delete or archive a letter, scroll the line with the letter to the left or to the right, after which a message about the successful operation will appear.

-. When activating this setting, during a long correspondence with one of the users and composing several responses to the original message, a chain will be formed where you can accurately and most fully track the history of the correspondence.

-. Here you can configure the function of archiving / deleting a message by scrolling, which was discussed earlier, in the item "Default action". If you disable this option, you can delete the message only by clicking the button with the trash can on the top panel in an open message.

-. This setting is responsible for whether the avatar of the message sender will be displayed next to the header and recipient of the message.

Reply All... If you are chatting with several people at once, this setting will allow you to reply to all of them at once. If the checkbox is unchecked, only one of the users you specify will receive the letter.

Autoscaling... When working with bulky letters, the size of an open form with a message with special formatting will automatically fit to the size of your phone screen.

-. Here you can choose what will appear when archiving / deleting a message: the body of the next, previous letter or a list with all correspondence.

The last 3 parameters allow you to activate confirmation of the following operations: delete, archive and send. If you are afraid that by mistake you may irrevocably lose an important message, enable these parameters by checking the corresponding boxes. It should be noted that activation of these parameters on the test smartphone did not bring any results. Perhaps it depends on the firmware version and the build of the operating system.

Individual mailbox parameters

Now let's talk about how you configure Gmail for each individual account. In the initial settings menu, select the account you want to tune.

-. Here you can specify which of the message lists will be opened by default when the program starts and when you go to the main application form - with incoming or priority letters. Priority letters are marked in a special way, namely with yellow markers of different types, depending on whether you are indicated as the main recipient, group, or the sender indicated you as the addressee in the "Cc" field.

-. If in the previous option you selected the value "Inbox", then just below you can adapt the composition of this category for yourself, namely, which letters will be displayed in the inbox list. This can be messages from social networks, promotions (advertising mailings and other marketing materials), alerts (confirmation of registration, invoices, receipts, etc.), as well as messages from forums.

-. This parameter is responsible for whether incoming messages are displayed at the top of the phone display. This setting will take effect if you have configured email sync (you can do this when adding an account to the mobile version of Gmail, or using the menu option to activate sync, which will be discussed below).

Vibration and call for incoming... There are options for customizing a sound or a melody that will be played every time a new letter is received, as well as using vibration.

-. Here you can specify a sentence that is automatically attached to the body of the sent letter. It's important to note that this signature will only be valid for messages sent from the mobile version of the Gmail app. The web version for PC has its own signature settings.

-. In this field, you can configure the parameters for automatically sending a reply letter to the specified recipients. Convenient filtering of the autoresponder operation in a given period, composing the header and body of the message is available.

- followed by sync options... When this function is activated, push notifications will be sent to your mobile when new letters have been received. Gmail sync works very accurately and smoothly. Letters can come from the server both via the mobile Internet (if it is convenient for you and you use the anlim network), and via Wi-Fi.

If this option is disabled, you can also synchronize manually by simply flipping the Gmail work form from top to bottom.

Below you can specify the period for which the correspondence will be received during synchronization.

-. In this menu field, you can adapt the sync settings for each shortcut separately according to your requirements. After selecting a shortcut and making one tap on it, you are taken to the shortcut sync settings form.

Here you can select a melody or a sound signal that will be played when correspondence is received, as well as activate a vibration signal.

Downloading files... When exchanging emails with large attachments, it is often necessary to download attachments automatically if you are connected to a reliable and fast network. This option is just responsible for this possibility. If the box is not checked, you can download attachments when you open a separate letter.

-. In Gmail, all images in emails are displayed automatically. Using this option, you can set a manual confirmation for displaying graphics in a message.

To configure third-party email accounts (yandex.ru, mail.ru, ukr.net, outlook.com), the parameters will be similar, but in this case, several new options will also be available.

Third-party email service parameters

We go to the settings menu and select the desired account.

Now more about the settings themselves:

-. In order not to get confused when working with a large number of connected accounts when setting up Gmail and then using it, here you can specify the name of the account by which you will refer to mail.

-. This name will be seen by all your recipients. You can specify a nickname or choose any name you want.

-. Here you can configure the period how often you want to receive new mail. It is worth thinking about not too frequent a period in order to avoid overflowing the smartphone's memory and quickly draining the battery.

Incoming / outgoing mail server... We have already entered these settings when creating a new mailbox in the previous article (link at the very top of the article). If the administrator of one of the services changed something on the remote server and mail stopped arriving, here you can enter the necessary parameters, having learned about them in advance on the technical support page of the web service.
