Features of the air conditioner in heating mode

Basic principles and features of work

· The air conditioner takes heat from the outside air and uses it to heat the indoor air. The heating capacity, based on the heat pump principle, increases or decreases depending on the increase/decrease in outdoor temperature.

· This warm air circulation system requires very little time to heat the room.

· At very low outside temperatures, the system can be used in conjunction with other heating devices. To maintain proper safety and prevent accidents, adequate ventilation must be provided.

Thawing

· At very low temperatures and high humidity outside air, frost forms on the heat exchanger of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, which negatively affects the heating capacity of the air conditioner. In this case, the defrosting mode is automatically turned on, and heating is suspended for 5-10 minutes.

· During defrosting, the indoor and outdoor unit fans do not operate. "dF" lights up on the display.

· During defrosting, some steam may be released from the outdoor unit (due to rapid defrosting), but this is not a sign of a malfunction of the air conditioner.

· When the defrost period is complete, the air conditioner resumes heating mode.

Care and maintenance

Before starting maintenance, the air conditioner must be turned off and the power cord disconnected from the power outlet.

Before the start of the operating season you must:

· Make sure there are no foreign objects blocking the inlet or outlet of the indoor or outdoor unit.

· https://pandia.ru/text/78/448/images/image041_3.jpg" width="138" height="69 src=">Insert batteries into the remote control.

During the operating season it is necessary:

· Clean the air filter screens (at least once every two weeks).

· Remove the air filter mesh from the indoor unit:

· https://pandia.ru/text/78/448/images/image043_3.jpg" width="151" height="106 src=">To clean the air conditioner housing, use a dry soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner.

· If the surface of the air conditioner is very dirty, it can be cleaned with a cloth moistened with a neutral detergent.

At the end of the operating season

· Set the temperature to 30°C and turn on the air conditioner in fan mode for about half a day.

· This procedure is necessary to dry the internal parts of the air conditioner.

DIV_ADBLOCK68">

· Clean the indoor and outdoor units from dirt.

· Remove the batteries from the remote control.

Note:

If the air filter mesh is very dirty or clogged with dust, this will affect the air conditioner's efficiency in cooling or heating the room, and will also lead to increased noise during operation of the air conditioner and increased energy consumption.

When contacting the service center

Please check the following before contacting the warranty service center:

The air conditioner does not turn on.

The air conditioner does not cool or heat the room well

The air conditioner does not cool the room well

The room temperature is not regulated (too cold or too hot)

· Is the temperature set in "CONT" mode?

· In "CONT" mode, the air conditioner operates continuously, regardless of the room temperature.

If, after performing the above checks, the cause of unsatisfactory operation of the air conditioner could not be determined, as well as in the cases listed below, the air conditioner must be turned off and contact a service center.

Contacting the service center

In the following cases, you should immediately unplug the power cord from the power outlet and contact a service center:

Often a fuse blows or a circuit breaker trips.

The power cord or plug is excessively hot.

The plug housing or the protective sheathing of the power cord is damaged.

The air conditioner creates interference that affects the operation of the TV, radio, and other devices.

Difficulties when giving commands from the remote control.

Extraneous sounds are heard while the air conditioner is operating.

If, after pressing the "ON/OFF" button, the air conditioner malfunctions, you must turn it off and disconnect the power cord from the network. After 3 minutes, the air conditioner can be turned on again. If the air conditioner still does not work properly, contact a service center.

What the user also needs to know

In order to protect the operating elements of the air conditioner, a 3-minute restart delay has been set. The 3-minute restart delay is automatically set by the microprocessor. This function only works when the power is turned on.

When the air conditioner is turned on in heating mode, no air flow occurs.

In the first minutes (from 2 to 5 minutes) of the air conditioner operating in heating mode, no air is supplied until the heat exchanger of the indoor unit heats up.

When the air conditioner is operating in heating mode, the air supply is periodically interrupted for a period of 6 to 12 minutes.

At low temperatures and high humidity outside air, automatic defrosting is performed periodically, after which the air conditioner starts operating in heating mode again. During the defrosting process, steam or water may drip from the outdoor unit.

When the air conditioner is operating in the "Dry" mode, no air is supplied.

The indoor unit fan stops periodically to avoid evaporation of moisture removed from the air, as well as to save energy.

When the air conditioner operates in cooling mode, water spray comes out of the indoor unit.

This phenomenon is sometimes observed at high temperature and humidity in the room, however, it disappears with a subsequent decrease in temperature and humidity.

The supplied air has an odor.

Conditioned air may have an odor caused by particles of tobacco or cosmetics sticking to the internal parts of the air conditioner.

When the air conditioner operates, a crackling noise is heard.

This sound occurs as a result of the circulation of refrigerant within the circuit of the air conditioner unit.

After turning off the air conditioner or disconnecting it from the network, a crackling noise is heard.

This sound is produced by thermal expansion or contraction of plastic parts.

The air conditioner does not turn on when the power is restored.

Data has been erased from the microprocessor memory. They must be entered again using the remote control.

The air conditioner unit does not accept commands from the remote control.

Signals from the remote control may not be received if the receiving window on the indoor unit is exposed to direct sunlight or too much light. You should cover the receiving window from sunlight, or reduce the brightness of the lighting.

Air conditioner installation rules

· It is necessary to make sure that there is no furniture or objects near the air conditioner that could interfere with air ventilation and normal operation of the air conditioner.

· Do not install the air conditioner in the following places: in places where there is a possible leak of flammable gas; in places where oil and similar substances splash.

· If the air conditioner is planned to be used near hot mineral springs, where there is a high content of hydrogen sulfide in the air, or in coastal areas where wind carries moisture from the sea, then before installing the air conditioner, you should seek advice from authorized service specialists or our company representative . In these situations, there is an increased risk of corrosion, which can lead to problems with the operation of the air conditioner.

· It is necessary to equip the condensed water drain from the indoor unit in such a way as not to create inconvenience to other people.

· The air conditioner should not be installed in the laundry room.

Noise when the air conditioner is running

· Before installing the blocks, you must make sure that the supports intended for them are reliable. Supports and fastenings should also not increase noise and vibration during operation of the air conditioner.

· The cold/hot air released through the outlets of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, as well as the noise during its operation, should not create inconvenience to people living in the neighborhood.

· Do not place any objects in close proximity to the inlet and outlet grilles of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. This may cause the air conditioner to malfunction and cause increased noise levels.

· If you hear any unusual noise when the air conditioner is operating, please contact authorized service personnel or our representative office

The polaris company began its activities in 1992. Since then, products under this brand have become popular among consumers around the world. The plant producing climate control equipment is located in Israel, and compressors are supplied by trusted companies: Hitachi or Mitsubishi. Among a wide range of models for office and home, industrial and commercial facilities, you can choose a unit with different capacities that meets all requirements.

Types of split systems

Among Polaris air conditioners there are several main types:

  • Floor-standing. These are quite mobile air conditioners and you can independently move them around the room and install them in the place where it is convenient at the moment.
  • Ceiling. Such split systems do not clutter up the space, do not collect dust and are practically invisible in the interior.
  • Wall-mounted. This is the most popular type of air conditioner. They are easy to install and do an excellent job of maintaining a comfortable air temperature.
  • Window. They can be installed by the owners themselves, have the simplest and most economical design and are a monoblock installed in the window opening.
  • Duct. Designed to control the climate in several rooms at once, allowing you to maintain a uniform temperature throughout the entire apartment or organization.

Among the models of each type, you can choose a polaris split system, designed for the volume of air in the room. The Polaris ps system includes several models of wall-mounted air conditioners.

Instructions for the control panel and Polaris air conditioners

Each model with remote control comes with a remote control for the Polaris air conditioner. With its help, it becomes possible to adjust the operating parameters of the cooling or heating system. The remote control is able to function correctly within the room. All control of the wall-mounted air conditioner is carried out using the remote control. It has several buttons, the purpose of which can be understood by studying the instructions:

  • Increase/decrease temperature. These are the most used large and visible buttons on the remote. They are located in the center.
  • On/off. A different button from the others, located in the corner.
  • Fan speed selection.
  • Maintaining minimum/maximum air temperature.
  • Selecting the operating mode.

There is also a display on the remote control that shows important settings for the mechanism. To correctly interpret the symbols on the display, you will first have to use the instructions.

Using the remote control

A mobile air conditioner usually does not have a control panel, since to adjust parameters and operating modes, you just need to press a few buttons on the body, standing in an accessible place on the floor.

For Polaris, the instructions for the air conditioner begin with safety precautions. After listing the included parts, operating instructions are described in detail. If you follow all the points, the split system will last a very long time and will not require repair or replacement. The instructions also provide diagrams for the correct connection of the equipment, and a manual for installing and using the air conditioner comes with it.

Polaris air conditioner error codes

When it comes to explaining to the technician what happened to the split system and why it is not working, error codes come to the rescue. Each air conditioner is equipped with a self-diagnosis system. This means that if there is a problem, it turns off and displays an error code on the screen. If you remember the most popular ones, you can save significant time on diagnostics:

  • E2 – outside air temperature is measured incorrectly.
  • E3 – the temperature sensor in the internal module is not working correctly.
  • E4 – the outdoor module is broken.
  • E5 - the motor of the indoor module is not working properly.
  • dF – it is necessary to clear the internal module from icing.

Troubleshooting

A description of all errors and the necessary measures to eliminate them can be found in the instructions for the air conditioner. It should be remembered that it is best to entrust the repair of such equipment to professionals; they will be able to repair the equipment and at the same time give a guarantee for their work.

Features of the air conditioner in heating mode Basic principles and features of operation The air conditioner takes heat from the outside air and uses it to heat the air in the room. The heating capacity, based on the heat pump principle, increases or decreases depending on the increase/decrease in outdoor temperature.

This warm air circulation system requires very little time to heat the room.

At very low outside temperatures, the system can be used in conjunction with other heating devices. To maintain proper safety and prevent accidents, adequate ventilation must be provided.

Defrosting At very low temperatures and high humidity outside air, frost forms on the heat exchanger of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, which negatively affects the heating ability of the air conditioner. In this case, the defrosting mode is automatically turned on, and heating is suspended for 5-10 minutes.

During defrosting, the indoor and outdoor unit fans do not operate. "dF" lights up on the display.

During defrosting, some steam may be released from the outdoor unit (due to rapid defrosting), but this is not a sign of a malfunction of the air conditioner.

When the defrosting period is complete, the air conditioner returns to heating mode.

Additional functions and properties of the air conditioner Ionizer function Your air conditioner is additionally equipped with an air flow ionizer, which saturates the air with negatively charged ions that trap dust particles, bacteria and mold spores. The air becomes cleaner and fresher. This function works constantly.

Cold Catalyst Technology Cold Catalyst Technology sterilizes air and eliminates unpleasant odors by breaking down methyl oxide, methyl hydrogen sulfate and other hazardous elements.

Silver Ion filter A filter containing silver ions promotes effective air purification/ Coating of heat exchangers Blue Fin Coating of heat exchangers of the external and internal units with anti-corrosion material Blue fin.

Auto restart function In the event of a power failure, the device automatically resumes operation with the previous settings.

Rules for installing an air conditioner You must make sure that there is no furniture or objects near the air conditioner that could interfere with air ventilation and normal operation of the air conditioner.

Do not install the air conditioner in the following places: places where flammable gas may leak, places where oil splashes or similar substances occur.

If you plan to use the air conditioner near hot mineral springs, where there is a high content of hydrogen sulfide in the air, or in coastal areas where the wind carries moisture from the sea, then before installing the air conditioner, you should seek advice from authorized service specialists or our company representative. In these situations, there is an increased risk of corrosion, which can lead to problems with the operation of the air conditioner.

It is necessary to equip the condensed water drain from the indoor unit in such a way as not to create inconvenience to other people.

The air conditioner should not be installed in the laundry room.

Noise during operation of the air conditioner Before installing the units, you must make sure that the supports intended for them are reliable. Supports and fastenings should also not increase noise and vibration during operation of the air conditioner.

The cold/hot air released through the outlets of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, as well as the noise during its operation, should not create inconvenience to people living in the neighborhood.

Do not place any objects in close proximity to the inlet and outlet grilles of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. This may cause the air conditioner to malfunction and cause increased noise levels.

If you hear any unusual noise when the air conditioner is operating, you must contact authorized service personnel or our representative office.

Check the operation of the condensate drain.

Make sure there are no extraneous sounds or excessive vibrations when the air conditioner is operating.

Make sure there are no refrigerant leaks.

Inspection and maintenance Depending on operating conditions, over several seasons of operation (from 3 to 5 years), contaminants accumulate in the inside of the air conditioner, preventing its further efficient operation. Therefore, in addition to the usual care of the air conditioner, it is recommended to check and maintain it. To do this, you should contact the representative office of the trading company (in this case, a fee will be charged for maintenance).

Care and maintenance Before starting maintenance, you must turn off the air conditioner and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.

Before the start of the operating season you must:

Make sure that there are no foreign objects blocking the inlet and outlet openings of the indoor or outdoor unit.

Make sure that the fastening of the air conditioner units is secure (that the fasteners are not damaged by corrosion).

Check the grounding of the air conditioner.

Clean the air filter if necessary. Connect the air conditioner to the power supply.

Insert batteries into the remote control.

During the operating season it is necessary:

Clean the air filter meshes (at least once every two weeks).

Remove the air filter mesh from the indoor unit:

Gently press the bottom corners of the filter mesh to release it from the clamp.

Remove the filter mesh by gently pulling it towards you.

Wash the air filter mesh.

If the mesh is heavily soiled, it is better to rinse it with warm water (temperature about 30°C). Then the mesh should be air dried

Notes:

Do not use boiling water to wash the filter mesh.

Do not dry the filter mesh over a fire.

Do not remove or stretch the filter mesh with excessive force.

Put the air filter mesh in place.

Do not allow the air conditioner to operate without an air filter mesh. This will lead to contamination of the internal parts of the air conditioner, deterioration in its performance or failure.

Cleaning the air conditioner To clean the air conditioner body, use a dry soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner.

If the surface of the air conditioner is very dirty, it can be cleaned with a cloth moistened with a neutral detergent.

At the end of the operating season, set the temperature to 30°C and turn on the air conditioner in fan mode for about half a day.

This procedure is necessary to dry the internal parts of the air conditioner.

Turn off the air conditioner and unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

When turned off, the air conditioner consumes about 5 W of electricity. Therefore, for reasons of economy and safety, it is recommended to disconnect the power cord from the power outlet during long breaks in the operation of the air conditioner.

Clean the indoor and outdoor units from dirt.

Remove the batteries from the remote control.

Note:

If the air filter mesh is very dirty or clogged with dust, this will affect the air conditioner's efficiency in cooling or heating the room, and will also lead to increased noise during operation of the air conditioner and increased energy consumption.
