Music speaker instructions for use. Budget speaker S28 Portable Mini Wireless Bluetooth V3.0. Operating modes of Mini BT Speaker

I bring to your attention a review of an interesting device - a Bluetooth speaker, which can also be a card reader and a USB sound card, a Bluetooth headset (free hands).

For the lazy, a short summary: I really liked the sound; as an external usb sound card, bluetooth, connection via audio wire, mp3 from the card - everything works; The card reader is working, but very slow; Free hands works, but the microphone sensitivity is low.

Overall, I liked the device, especially the sound - I recommend it for purchase.

Well, now the details...

Preface:

I was looking for the cheapest bluetooth speaker offline. I wanted to output sound from the Android TV box through it in order to hear calls on Skype when the TV is turned off, so the sound does not come through it.

Alas, I didn’t find anything decent cheaper than 2-3 thousand. And this is in Moscow... perhaps it was worth going to the radio market, I would probably have found some Chinese equivalent of the speaker under review there at a price of 1300-1500 rubles. But I was frankly lazy and then I bought ordinary wired speakers for 600 rubles. And then, by the way, I received a coupon from panda for $25 for a phone review. So, I paid a couple of bucks and ordered this column.

So, let's begin.

This device came in a rather nice box made of thick cardboard with magnetic latches. The box was immediately stolen by the wife to store all sorts of small things.

Inside the box we found the speaker itself, covered with a protective film, 2 wires (usb-mini usb and audio 3.5 jack) and detailed instructions in English.

Package size: 12 x 8.5 x 6.4cm / 4.75 x 3.37 x 2.52 inch

Appearance

At the top there is a metal mesh of the speaker, in the center of the mesh there is an insert with the image of an eagle.

The speaker is stated to be 5W, but I couldn’t check it, I couldn’t get to it: (The case is metal, painted in one of 3 colors. The lower part is plastic. There are connectors on the side - miniUSB for charging and connecting to a computer, mini-HDD 3.5 for wired connections to a sound source, a card reader for microSD and 2 LEDs for status indication.

Now we turn the column over and see the control buttons at the bottom - in the center is the on/off button. Around it are buttons for play/pause and answering a call using the speaker's microphone when connected to a phone. Well, 2 buttons ± - short press - scroll through tracks, long press - change the volume.

The buttons are pressed clearly. Because Since the main purpose is passive music playback, the location of the buttons does not cause any particular inconvenience. Around the buttons there is a silicone ring, designed to strengthen the contact of the speaker with the surface on which it stands. The fact is that the speaker uses a low-frequency resonance system, which uses the surface on which the speaker stands to improve bass transmission. A lot of debris and dust sticks to this rubber band, but it can be cleaned without question with a damp cloth.

Turn on

When turned on, a short, pleasant melody is played. The same sounds are made when connecting to a computer, inserting a memory card and some other cases. I would say that the main disadvantage is the inability to adjust their volume; during the day it’s no big deal, but in the evening it’s quite loud.

It claims to work within 4 hours, but to be honest, I didn’t check it

Sound

The main thing in a speaker is the sound. My hearing is not musical. But I really liked the way it sounded. The sound was much better than I expected from a mono speaker. According to my feelings, it is “deep” and “juicy”. Installing the speaker on a suitable surface significantly improves bass transmission. A wooden table surface is best. By the way, at full volume, the mouse cursor lying on the same table begins to jump across the screen due to vibration. However, if you turn it down, there is no interference

About volume. The volume is good. It is quite sufficient for the room and screams loudly. I haven’t tried it on the street, but there are suspicions that the volume will not be enough at a noisy barbecue. This speaker is clearly louder and more suitable for a noisy street.

Below is a video where you can try to evaluate the sound.

Connections

Unusually for a speaker Card reader, USB sound device, USB microphone, some kind of player.

“USB Audio Device” is a pretty cool thing - it’s actually an external sound card connected via USB. This means that by connecting the speaker to your computer, you can play sound through it, even if your computer does not have a sound card, which is also common on work computers in offices.

Detected as a stereo device.

The speaker is defined as a standard USB audio device and does not require special drivers. Declared compatibility starting from win98 as well as Mac OS and Android.

Well, I don’t know, it worked in win7 without any questions, and the same with android.

By the way, if you have a laptop with an inconvenient external connection of speakers in the front or side, where they interfere with the mouse, for example, then you can use this option as an alternative. Again, one wire for both sound and charging.

The second useful device detected when connected to the computer is a card reader.

Well, he was upset, consider that he was purely for the sake of it. The work speed is very slow. Below is a comparison with a regular MicroSD-USB adapter.

MicroSD-USB adapter for the same memory card

2) Connection via audio cable

Well, everything is standard here, a standard 3.5 audio jack, a connection cable included. By the way, the sound over the wire is louder than over Bluetooth.

Suitable for increasing the volume of laptops, phones, etc.

3) bluetooth

Everything is standard here too. Bluetooth 2.0. Supports music profile and conversation profile.

I tried to talk through the microphone built into the speaker, connecting it to the phone as a headset. You can hear your interlocutor normally through the speaker, but you can only hear me if you hold the hole where the microphone is, 2-3 cm near your mouth. Perhaps it will help to dig this hole out more; it is much smaller than the microphone. Well, or you can solder the microphone to a new one if you need this function. I remember this advice (about soldering the microphone and that) came across in a review of some phone, but what did you want from a mini speaker?

4) Connect to Android (TV Box with OTG function)

For some reason the microphone was not detected (sound input), but here’s how the external speaker was fully identified and working (sound output)

5) Autonomous operation

We connect the memory card and playback of the found mp3s begins. Scrolling - forward/backward, not inside the track. When turned on again, it continues from where it left off. Support for cards up to 64Gb is announced. I got a max size card - 16GB. 32 and 64 were chewed for a long time and did not work, maybe there were a lot of files or they needed to be formatted in some other way, I don’t know - I didn’t understand.

Let's sort it out

We tear off the rubber band, unscrew 3 screws...

Unfortunately, it was not possible to get to the speaker.

Portable Bluetooth speakers Doss:

1.Bluetooth ASAT DS 1661.

The speaker body is made of plastic. The main control buttons have a dual purpose: (2/4) - rewind right/left//volume adjustment, (3) - play/pause//pick up the tube. They are located on the front (front) of the speaker. Two buttons for turning on and selecting the “MODE” operating mode are located on the bottom of the speaker body.

On the back (rear) side of the case there is a USB connector for connecting the speaker to a computer. The built-in battery is charged via a USB cable when connected to a desktop PC or laptop. Above the USB connector there is a battery charge indicator that displays the charging process (in the normal state it does not light up). When charging, if the battery is fully charged, the indicator lights up green. When the charge is low and during charging, the indicator is red. In order to charge the built-in battery, connect the speaker to the computer and wait until the indicator color changes from red to green. This means the speaker battery is fully charged.

Next to the USB connector is a Micro SD card slot. The SD card must be inserted with the contacts facing up. When turned on, the speaker automatically starts Bluetooth mode, wireless connection, as indicated by a flashing blue indicator. If, after turning on, you insert an SD card with recorded sound files into the speaker, the speaker automatically starts playing sound from the memory card.

In order to connect a mobile phone, after turning it on, make sure that the speaker is in bluetooth mode and the corresponding blue indicator is on. After which you need to enter the phone’s wireless connection settings (the bluetooth function is turned off, turn it on), a new device will be detected in the bluetooth settings, for a correct connection you need to complete the connection procedure. The phone may ask you to enter a PIN code, by default it is 0000. Enter the PIN and the connection will be established. After this, you can start music on your phone and listen to it through the connected speaker. The playback volume can be adjusted both on the speaker and on the connected device. To turn down or turn up the volume on the speaker, press and hold the rewind button for a few seconds. A short press on this button will change the song being played. To stop or start playing music from the speaker, use the "pause/play" button >II. The second function of this button is to lift the handset when there is an incoming call. When there is an incoming call, you will hear a corresponding signal, and you can use the hands-free mode using the “pick up handset” button. For full operation, the speaker has a built-in microphone.

When connecting the speaker to a laptop, you may need to use more settings: identifying the speaker as a Bluetooth device, selecting the wireless headset function or music device. More precise settings depend on the laptop model and whether it has the appropriate software.

You can also connect a player that does not have bluetooth functionality to the MP3/MP4 speaker. To do this, use the cable supplied to connect the player's output to the AUX jack of the speaker. To complete the connection, you need to press the “MODE” button at the bottom of the speaker; an orange (red) indicator above the AUX jack will light up, indicating that the connection to the player is currently active. Through the connected player you can listen to both music and FM radio. In the same way, using a cable, you can connect the speaker to the output of the sound card of a desktop computer.

More detailed technical characteristics of this model can be found on our catalog page.

The wireless communication mode will turn on automatically, or for connection you may need to press the >II “Pause/Play” button and hold it briefly for 5-10 seconds. To adjust the volume of the speaker, you can use the corresponding buttons with the image of a speaker by making short presses.

In the "wireless connections" section, configure (search) the speaker. This model is defined for connection as Doss New Asimom. Complete the connection by selecting this model in the menu.

The charging procedure for the speaker is carried out through the charging station. Which in turn is connected by a USB cable to a computer or laptop. First, it is advisable to charge the station itself. Place the switch on the station in the CH position and connect the station to the computer. The charge indicator on the station will begin to flash, which corresponds to the charging procedure. When the indicator stops blinking, the charging procedure is complete. To start charging the speaker, turn it on and place the speaker on the contacts of the charging station. The red and blue (green) diodes on the station will start blinking alternately. This means the speaker battery is charging. After the speaker's battery is fully charged, you will hear an audio message and the illuminated blue circle on the top panel will begin to blink. The charged station can also be used to recharge the phone battery. Just connect the charging station and install the switched-on speaker on it. The red ring on the station will flash slowly and the speaker will be charging. If the battery is low or full, you will hear an audio message in English. Which will prompt you to charge the battery or turn off the power after fully charged. The charging station can be used as an additional charger for your mobile phone. To charge your phone, turn the switch on the station to the PS position. Connect your phone using the appropriate cable provided and press the Mode button. If your phone/smartphone supports the NFC function (interaction with another device via radio), you can use it to charge the battery from the dock. Asimom III speaker stations. To do this, you need to turn on the NFC function on your phone, place the phone on the station or place it in close proximity to the station's coverage area.
