Wireless xiaomi mi bluetooth headphones. Let's look and study: Mi Sports wireless headphones have arrived. Xiaomi Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset technical specifications

Good afternoon everyone. The other day I received Xiaomi Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 Music Sport wireless headphones from banggood.com, and they will be discussed in this review. This model is no longer new, but considering the cost and quality of Xiaomi, in general they are not at all outdated, both in terms of design and reliability.

Specifications:
Manufacturer: Xiaomi
Black color
Charging: Micro USB (charged from 5V)
Resistance: 32ohms
Music playback time: 7h (claimed)
Standby time: 280h (claimed)
Bluetooth Version: V4.1
Bluetooth operating distance: about 10m
Bluetooth protocols: A2DP,AVRCP,HFP,HSP
Battery: 100mAh
Weight: 18g

As I said earlier, the model is not new, but it has its significant advantages that encourage purchase.
Mi Sports is waterproof to IPX4 standard, in other words, it is dust and moisture resistant.
You can walk in the rain or sleet in these without any problems, but unfortunately you can’t shower or swim in them.

Packaging, Appearance
The parcel with the headphones arrived in this form, packed as usual: a shipping bag and several layers of packaging isolon tightly wrapped with tape.

Next is the appearance of the box.
As always with Xiaomi, the box is white, made of good cardboard, made according to the company’s traditions in a minimalist style or design.

On the front side of the box there is a transparent window for visual inspection of the headphones.
At the bottom there is the Xiaomi “mi” logo in gray

There are no marks or inscriptions on the side edges of the box. But on the back of the box there is a detailed specification of the product, and there is also a license sticker.

The license sticker itself contains a license code. To obtain the code, you need to erase the protective layer on the sticker itself.

You can check the license for originality on the website, just enter our code there and get an answer

Next we move on to unpacking.
Oddly enough, you can unpack the box without tearing off the top “tab”
Open from the bottom like a regular box.

After opening the box, the entire base with headphones comes out without any problems. The backing is made of plastic and cardboard. The quality of fixation and workmanship are very decent.

Further on the configuration. We open the backing and see all the available equipment:
Bag with ear pads
The headphone charging cable is 18 cm long (it’s not entirely clear why it is white, given that the headphones are black)
Well, as an addition, according to tradition, there is a useless instruction in Chinese.

The bag with ear pads contains 4 pairs of different sizes + one pair is installed on the headphones

The instructions, as I said, are in Chinese. (there are drawings and diagrams that can be understood by anyone)

Next, regarding the headphones themselves:
They are delivered in this form. The headphone cord is wound up and glued with white paper tape (it is very difficult to come off)

As for appearance and design, they will suit almost anyone. The design and style are not provocative, perhaps even mediocre.

On the front side of each earphone there is a gray aluminum insert. There is a chamfer along the contour that visually limits the edges of the earphone.

The back of the headphones, as well as the entire body, are made of soft rubber-plastic; visually the entire coating is very similar to Soft Touch plastic.

The right earphone is the “Main” one since it has an LED pairing indicator, as well as two buttons for volume control and changing tracks.

On the same “Main” earphone there is a micro USB port for charging, which is hidden under a thick rubber plug.

The headphones also have a microphone and an active button for pairing, answering calls and turning on/off, in addition, with the same button you can pause the music being played.
The microphone, by the way, is of good quality and does an excellent job of suppressing extraneous noise; even in a noisy place, the interlocutor will hear your voice in excellent quality without any problems.

Device Dimensions
Earphone length: 6 cm
Earphone body length: 3.3cm
Earphone body width: 1.3 cm
Total weight: 18g

Dimensions of the microphone body and active button

Pairing
Connecting the headphones is very easy.
When pairing for the first time, you just need to turn them on by pressing one and only button.
Next, to pair, look for a new device in the list of devices and connect to it.
For secondary pairing with other devices. The active pairing button must be pressed and held for about 10 seconds, after which the headset will be detected on any other device.

Sound quality
The low frequencies in the headphones sound good, the bass is deep, clear and clean, sometimes it is a bit too much, but in general for sports headphones the low frequencies should probably be stronger.
The mid frequencies are present much less and in this regard there will not be a big dip. Not enough for avid music lovers.
There are too many high frequencies and low frequencies; in extreme cases or if there is discomfort, it is better to turn them down on the equalizer of the playback device.

Autonomy
At average volume, the headphones worked for me for a little more than 6 hours, the result is more than not bad, considering that there is only 100 mAh on board
It was not possible to check in full standby mode. But you have to trust the manufacturers. In any case, the headphones will last about 7-10 days in standby mode without any problems

Personal opinion from use
In general, the headphones turned out to be more than successful, even now, more than a year after the start of sales - they can compete in their segment both in price and quality without any problems.
There are no problems when using it. Pairing works perfectly, when using with iPhone 6, no pairing failures or quality distortions were observed.
As I said earlier, the headphones have fairly strong bass, but it does not cause discomfort.
The headphones fit comfortably and tightly on the ears and do not fall off even when playing active sports. There is no discomfort when worn for a long time.
If you are not an “Elf”, then they will suit you without any problems))

This concludes this brief review. Draw your own conclusions and, of course, write your opinion in the comments.

A short review of a popular headset for sports and active people.
The review will compare two Sport headsets - Mini and the regular version with disassembly of the regular version (probably the only disassembly of these headphones).

Among the interesting things is a completely modern CSR8645 Bluetooth 4.1 chip, as well as honest moisture protection available.

Details and conclusions under the cut.

There have already been many reviews of the regular Xiaomi Mi Sport, but I couldn’t find the internals anywhere. At one time I bought it “blindly”, on a promotion, and it didn’t make much of a mistake. Branded BT headphones with decent sound in the twenty bucks range are a completely normal choice.
As time passed, the second version of these headphones was released - a sports mini-Bluetooth headset with earbuds. As in the first version, IPX4 water protection is declared, which is supposed to be useful for athletes and active people. Well, of course, this does not mean swimming in the pool or washing in the shower - rather, just protection from sweat and splashes. In principle this should be enough.

Appearance of the Mini headset

In terms of wireless communication, there is a fairly good CSR8645 chip with Bluetooth 4.1, but there is no support for APT-X in the ears.

In terms of design, these crutches date back to the first Mi bands - a metal oval capsule. Or rather, painted to look like metal.
The design is a C grade, but there are ear hooks, and the headset turned out to be moderately comfortable. However, the Mini version inherited the design of the previous version, so you shouldn’t expect big changes. Especially if you understand that you need it for an hour or two a day of active movement (from jogging in the morning/evening to daily running to work/school/college).

Characteristics:

JD's packaging is nice. Large package, branded, with a hologram.

There are headphones inside in a blister.

Moreover, they are packaged more than beautifully. "With my heart." Xiaomi clearly tried.

On the back are full technical characteristics and description, although in Chinese

You can check the originality of Xiaomi products by barcode at.

Really nicely done. The wire is routed underneath, it is not visible

The kit includes a case, quite high quality. Pleasant care for the end user.

The kit includes a fairly large number of attachments of different sizes, a charging cable

The headphones fit in the case without any problems; if you wish, you can also put a small BT player or something else in there.

The headphone cord is curled. The kit includes detailed instructions

Additional information - instructions

The instructions, although in Chinese, have very detailed pictograms

The remote control on the wire has a microphone and a clothespin.

The charging connector is hidden under a plug

There is a model and ID marking

The main buttons on the remote control are present. I would like to note that the surface of the remote control is covered with rubber - in theory it should protect it from moisture and dust.
There is a hole for a microphone.

There is a work indicator.

The headphones themselves have a simple design, round (oval) shape.

The connection does not cause any problems - tested on several smartphones.
We are looking for a Chinese typeface (then we can rename it). There is "mini" in the name. We connect and set up a profile.

A friend has the same, but regular version, Xiaomi Mi Sport.
I’ve been using it for quite a long time and successfully, I’ll give you a visual comparison of the versions.

The Mini has a smaller body and the electronics have been moved to the remote control.

The sizes of the headphone cases have become smaller - this is a big plus. Instead of a metallic overlay, a more pleasant and durable coating appeared, also with a metallic sheen.

The dimensions of the acoustic chambers have not changed. This is a plus for those who are used to the old ones.

The earhooks have become a little softer, the provot is simply laid inside the earhook, unlike the old version, where it is poured inside the plastic hook

Slightly larger.

Comparison of remote control sizes.
On the new version of Xiaomi Mi Sport Mini, the remote control has become more than three times longer and thicker. And all because the board and battery migrated to the remote control. On the plus side, remote control protection has appeared. There was no protection in the old version.

Here is a photo of the old version of Xiaomi Mi Sport - in one of the headphones there is a board and a charger input with buttons.

Word for word, ... around the table, I argued with a friend about water protection.
We carefully disassembled the old version of Xiaomi Mi Sport to check all this.
I will try to demonstrate everything clearly.

The headphone body is made of plastic with a metallic decorative overlay.

Carefully pry it up, there are three latches.

In one ear there is a board with a CSR8645 Bluetooth 4.1 chip, in the other there is a battery.

The antenna is soldered by a separate module (ceramic). That's a plus.

In the other ear there is a battery of size 651022 (0.35Wh)

No hassles. The wires just go to the other ear through the remote control.

But this is the most interesting thing.
The channel with the wires to the emitter is tightly sealed with sealant. They really do have moisture protection. The emitter can be calmly filled with water - it will dry out and continue to “sing”.

As a result, I received a broken headset...
In general, I am pleased with the results of the disassembly - the headphones provide protection against moisture getting inside (sealed wire inputs, seals).
The design is not the most optimal, but it is time-tested and made with reserve.
The battery inside is size 651022 (0.35 Wh or 110 mAh), which is enough for several hours of operation (5 hours).
The remote control is not protected from water. This is a minus of the old version.

The board only has 1 button and a microphone. The Mini version has 3 buttons.

In general, the remote control was the weak point of the Xiaomi Mi Sport of the old version.

I don’t recommend immersing headphones in water, taking a shower or swimming in them - they won’t hold up. The weak point in the old version of the headphones is the remote control with buttons and the headphone housing. There is not enough sealant along the seam with snaps. The new version includes water protection on the buttons and a plug on the charging connector.
The headphones are protected only from water ingress from the emitter side.
The remote control has protection only on the buttons, but the microphone is open (hole). The remote control should not be wet 146%.

Well, some conclusions about use.
In terms of comfort, the headphones are made to a solid B level. The plus is that there are ear hooks and replaceable ear pads. If desired, you can add foam.
The sound quality is a very good headset. Also for a four. There is no obvious advantage over modern alternatives in the $30-$40 range, but in terms of sound it is a solid average. The sound is detailed (there are mid frequencies), there are highs and lows, the lows are not highlighted (as they say, there is no “dark sound”). Quite normal headphones for the money.
Compared to the old version, the size of the headphone housing has pleasantly changed to a smaller size.

If real protection from moisture is important to you, then this is a good option, just do as I did with the old version - after opening, apply a drop of sealant along the seam of the housing covers on the headphones and on the remote control. True, there remains a weak point - the microphone and connector.

If sound quality and lossless are more important to you, then it makes sense to choose another option (keep in mind that both headphones and the sound source - a player or smartphone - must also reproduce lossless, otherwise there is no point). The same sports
for $26 (or $35) may be more interesting in sound.
If you need a simple sports option, then the subject is on sale. Good too. Obviously better than the outright $15 noname.

P.S. The headphones are more interesting in white...

Hi all! Well, today we will recommend these smaller headphones and you all know that I’ve been using these for about six months now Meizu EP 52. Even though many people told me that they don’t sound so good, I probably agree, especially with the sounds: there is a certain kick drum. But anyway, I like them and they remain my main Bluetooth headphones for now.

But today we will talk about a new hit, probably for $25 on average, and these are wireless headphones Xiaomi Mi Sport Bluetooth Headset Mini!

I remember that the previous Xiaomi Bluetooth headphones were complete garbage. The most interesting thing is that this time, in terms of price-quality ratio and sound, these are probably the best Bluetooth headphones that can be.

It's love at first sight, I thought, because these headphones are like a balm for my ears! But we'll get back to sound a little later.

Equipment

I’ll start with the equipment, since people are greeted by their clothes. At the bottom of the box we can find this little case, which is quite bulky, so I didn’t use it. In it we see a small micro USB cord and five pairs of ear pads, which is very good, since everyone’s ears are quite different.

Appearance and ergonomics

Let's move on to appearance and ergonomics. The very shape of the headphones didn’t really suit me, because no matter who I gave them to, no one could put them on the first time. Probably all because he clings to his ear, but a couple of training sessions and everything will work out. There is a big plus about them: they definitely won’t fall off your ear, and for those who play sports, this is generally ideal.

The same Meizu EP 52 You can conveniently throw it behind your neck, but with these you won’t be able to pull off such a trick, because there is such a small appendage here and it hangs. It will either dangle, or at worst you can hook it into a pocket on a T-shirt.

Characteristics and Features

This process contains all the buttons we need. The Micro USB connector here is also hidden under a rubber plug, which makes it not very convenient to connect the charger. But if it weren’t for this plug, then goodbye moisture protection, and here we have IPX4. They are not afraid of rain, but I would not swim in them.

Among the features, I would like to note that there is Bluetooth 4.1, which can connect to two devices at once, but it will output sound one by one. The battery here is 80 milliamp hours, which, although it lasts for 4-5 hours, but after 1-2 hours the charge indicator was glowing red and my friend was saying something in Chinese.

Perhaps it’s just my fault, but in any case, it was very stressful. All the voice acting here is only in Chinese, but I also have a version for the Chinese market. It will be interesting to hear what is in the European version.

Separately, I would like to highlight the microphone, which is so bad that I was constantly asked to turn off my headphones and this is also very annoying, since it would be better not to add it here at all.

Sound

Now let's go to the sound. These are, perhaps, the first Bluetooth headphones that sound good, and at the same time do not have a astronomical price tag. I let both sound engineers and mere mortals listen to them, and everyone has the same opinion: the sound is clear and with very pleasant bass.

The only negative is that at maximum volume the sound is a little wheezing, but at the same time at maximum the sound is so loud that hardly anyone will be able to listen to music, and at a comfortable high volume there are no problems.

Considering all the pros and cons, I have lost the desire to return to regular wired headphones, since here is a rather rare combination of good price, sound and convenience!

Conclusion

They really sound very good, even to some extent better than the Meizu EP52. But this is such a purely subjective opinion, but here Xiaomi has clearer sound, good lows, good mids and highs, that is, everything is very good.

How to reset Xiaomi Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset Mini to factory settings

If someone stops pairing with any devices (as happened to me, devices display messages about an incorrect code), while charging, press and hold the power button until the indicator stops blinking. This is a factory reset.

What to do if the headphones stop seeing any Bluetooth devices?

I bought it for my daughter for a tablet, first I tried it on my phone - it works great. I canceled the pairing on the phone and the headphones stopped seeing any Bluetooth devices. The diode blinked once every 10 seconds, signaling that they were paired.

It turns out you need to do a simple action (cancel pairing on the headphones themselves):

  1. Turn off
  2. Press the on/off button and do not release until the diode begins to blink rapidly.

Pairing is cancelled, you can pair with another device.

At the end of the year, Xiaomi showed wireless Bluetooth headphones, which were named, in fact, defining their essence - . The headset is presented in two traditional colors: black and white, which may indicate their versatility and universal orientation. Protection against moisture and sweat getting inside the case is provided according to the IPX4 standard. Excellent audibility by the interlocutor is guaranteed by a microphone with built-in noise reduction function during a conversation.

High-quality sound from the speakers is achieved through the use of a metal composite diaphragm. The headphones can be used in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 70°C. Thanks to the modern Bluetooth wireless interface, it becomes possible to simultaneously connect to two different sound sources and quickly switch between them. Autonomy is ensured by a built-in 110 mAh battery. In music playback mode, Mi Sports can last up to 7 hours. Standby mode increases battery life up to 11 days. Fast charging technology is used, which allows you to increase your listening time by 1 hour due to a ten-minute connection to the power supply. The weight of the headset is only 17.8 grams.

The headphones are supplied in a white box made of high-quality cardboard. Most of the front side is occupied by a rather large “window”, which allows you to see the device itself even before the integrity of the packaging is damaged. Below it you can see the laconic “Mi” corporate logo.

The reverse side is dedicated to listing the specifications. There is also a hologram here that allows you to determine the authenticity of the headset.

After opening the box, the first thing that catches your attention is the headphones themselves, recessed in a cardboard niche.

Let's pay attention to the complete documentation.

It clearly demonstrates how to correctly position the headset in the ear.

To some extent, the design can be called classic for the entire class of wireless sports headsets.

Essentially, the device consists of two headphones connected by a common wire, on one half of which there is a conversational microphone and a call accept/end button. But Xiaomi was still able to fit the design of this gadget into the framework of its own ecosystem, transferring the appearance of the “core” of the Mi Band smart sports bracelet onto the body of the headphones.

On the case, by the way, there are two rubberized volume control keys and a charging connector, protected by a special plug.

The wire also has a special branded sticker.

The Mi Sports kit includes a charging cable, instructions in Chinese with visual images, and a set of 5 silicone ear pads.

Today we are reviewing quite interesting and stylish Xiaomi Mi Sports bluetooth headphones. This headset was released by the Chinese brand Xiaomi at the end of 2016. And at first, due to increased demand, they were sold only on pre-orders. The price at the start of sales ranged from 28 to 35 US dollars, and this model was mainly sold on the websites of Chinese online electronics stores.

Appearance

Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones are supplied in a white box made of thin cardboard with a transparent window through which you can see the headphones themselves. Since the parcel was coming to me directly from China, it was a little wrinkled. It is worth noting here that if the box was made in the style of other Xiaomi accessories, then the mail would hardly be able to damage it. On the back of the box there is information about the model, country of manufacture, and so on. There is also a small hologram, which should probably tell us about the authenticity of the product.

The scope of delivery is not too large:

  • Instructions in Chinese
  • Charging cable (10 cm)
  • Xiaomi Mi Sports Headphones
  • Set of ear pads

1 of 4

What pleased me about the set, and then slightly upset me, was the number of ear pads. There are a total of 4 pairs in a separate small package. The disappointing thing is that the sizes of the ear pads are XS, S, M, L, and this is probably enough for the Chinese market, but for me even L is a little small.

Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones are a bluetooth stereo headset with a vacuum earbud mount. They are connected to each other by a dense rubber-braided cable. The cable length is 50 cm and it is firmly fixed in the headphones, so there is no possibility of replacing it, or losing it. There is a tie in the middle of the cable designed to reduce the length of the cable for ease of use. I tried wearing it with and without a tie, and didn’t feel any particular discomfort.

1 of 2

Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones arrived in black. The headphones themselves are made of matte black plastic. The tactile sensations are very pleasant to the touch, and the plastic coating vaguely resembles a rubberized surface. A matte gray aluminum plate is inserted into the center of both headphones. There is also an aluminum ring at the junction of the wire and the edge of the arms. On the right earphone there is a charging connector covered with a protective cap. On the other side there are 2 buttons “+” and “-”, and in the middle of the metal insert there is an inconspicuous light indicator of operation. By the way, the indicator is so indistinguishable that I only became aware of its presence when I connected the headphones to the charger, when it lit up red. Not far from the right earphone, there is a microphone and a power button on the wire.

Externally, the shape of the headphones themselves resembles the Xiaomi Mi Band accessory. It was made in the same style as the headphones. And these two accessories together would complement each other.

Controls

The Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones are turned on by pressing the button located near the microphone for 1 second. At the same time, the girl’s pleasant voice in Chinese makes it clear that the headset is on. Pressing this button for 3 seconds will turn off. When the Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones are turned on, a single press of the button on the remote control performs the play/pause function for the music player. If you quickly press the button twice, the phone will start dialing the last dialed subscriber. As with many other headsets, when there is an incoming call, a short press on the button means to accept the call, and a long press means to reject it.

The “+” and “-” buttons perform 2 functions. So, with a single press, the volume increases and decreases, and with a long press, it switches tracks on the player. It is worth noting that the tactile “+” and “-” on the Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones can be felt rather poorly, so we just remember that the top track is forward and louder, and the bottom track is the opposite.

Inclusion

After switching on, Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones are detected on the smartphone in the form of a string of Chinese characters. Pairing occurs quickly, and the headphones again pronounce a long phrase in Chinese. I would associate it with “connected - everything is fine.” To be honest, the first minutes of using and understanding Chinese speech were a little uncomfortable. But then it gave the headphones a zest, and the phrases gradually began to be remembered.

Since Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones support simultaneous operation with several devices, to connect a second smartphone you need to carry out the following sequence of actions:

  • Disconnect headphones and turn off the bluetooth module on your smartphone 1.
  • Enable the bluetooth module on smartphone 2 and turn on the headphones
  • Pair devices
  • Then turn on the bluetooth module on your smartphone 1

At the same time, there is one interesting feature - if you use it in exclusive mode on smartphone 1, then the second smartphone can only be connected according to the same principle as the initial pairing. It seems that smartphone 1 becomes a priority for headphones, and should be turned off when connecting other devices.

Of the shortcomings of working with two smartphones, I noticed only one. When making a call to any of the smartphones on the second player, the player is not paused, but simply muted.

Feelings of use

I decided to break down the experience of using the Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones and give them ratings.

The first thing I would note is the wearable qualities of the device. The headphones are lightweight and almost invisible, just like sports accessories should be. But that was until I tried to put on sunglasses. Due to the fact that the headband of the headphones is thick and hard, you have to constantly adjust the glasses and temples. And here either the glasses lie above the ear or the earpiece does not fit behind the ear. I'll give it a 3 for wearability with other accessories.

The second point I would note is how the ear pad lies in the auricle. If you are lucky and you immediately select the ear pad size for yourself, then you will feel the pleasure of the sound. I can hardly fit the L size ear pads. So I won’t advise people with big ears, the rest - go ahead. Rating 4.

The third thing I would like to note is the sound. It's very good for the money. And in those cases when the ear pad fit well in my ear, I really enjoyed the bass. If the ear pads do not fit tightly to your ear, then you simply will not hear low-frequency tones of sound as well. And given that the volume of the Xiaomi Mi Sports headphones is very high, there will be no problems with audibility.

I myself am an ardent fan of cycling and with these headphones I had almost no problems with the wind in my ears at speed. This is most likely due to the rather massive and streamlined design. For volume, sound and sound insulation - a solid 5.

One note regarding the bicycle - I am for safe riding, so I have to ride with one earphone, but the second one simply cannot be attached to the ear due to the rigid design.

The fourth point is the microphone. Since it is structurally located on the wire and is located below the ear near the neck, the quality of your interlocutor’s hearing greatly depends on the situation around you. Indoors it’s ok, on the street it’s tolerable, in a car it’s not bad. But you shouldn’t even try on a bicycle, the wind will simply drown out everything. So, a solid 4.

Well, the last, fifth, but not least important thing is the quality of the connection. And here nuances arose that I did not expect. I found out empirically that the bluetooth module itself is located in the right earphone. If the smartphone is in the front pocket of your trousers or jeans and plays music, then there is no problem. But if you turn your head to the right, that is, make it as difficult as possible for the signal to pass through the body to the earphone, then the sound begins to disappear and become interrupted. This does not happen when you turn your head to the left. Otherwise, there are no complaints about the connection. Score 4
